Scaffolding was erected to give access to the full height of the affected area. It allows stable working during the cutting back, the application of the bonding primer and the rebuilding of the corner.
Debris and pieces of the substrate that were no longer sound were removed with a chisel and hammer. A wire brush was then used to clean the surfaces and remove any residue before the repair.
A bonding primer was applied to the exposed substrate. The repair was then carried out with 707 CLAVEX PRO mortar, mixed in small batches and applied in successive passes. The mortar was pressed onto the substrate to promote adhesion, then ruled off and smoothed as the work progressed.
The rebuilding was carried out gradually, allowing a hardening time between the successive passes. A guide batten made it possible to recover a straight arris. Once the mortar had hardened, the guide was removed and the area was sanded down to prepare for the finish.
The repair was completed with a white smoothing render or an external RPE finish compatible with the existing substrate. The aim is to protect the repaired area while visually blending the corner back into the rest of the façade.
